In 1999, dismayed at the condition of his copy of Roadrunner by Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers, and not wanting contribute further to the increasing amount of landfill, Phil Fowler worked out a way of turning it into a discreet wall clock. He cut off most of the vinyl, leaving the lovely Beserkley label and the run out groove; this became the clock face. When he worked out how to turn record sleeves into a presentation box, Phil set on his quest to re-invigorate much cherished but sadly redundant vinyl.

ABOUT THE CLOCKS
It’s not the whole record; it’s smaller than you may think; but then who wants a big slab of black plastic on their wall?
Clock diameter is 107mm (about 4.3 inch). Presentation box is 108mm x 108mm x 35mm.
Hang them on a wall, sit them on a ledge or speaker, or display in the box.
Popstesr clocks can be purchased at Rebel Rebel Gallery or online at www.popsters.co.uk

PRICING
The pricing of the clock is dependent on what we paid for the vinyl record. Generally speaking, the rarer the record, the more expensive the clock will be.
THE ENVIRONMENT
We do more than recycle – we re-use. The clock face and presentation box are made from existing commodities (records). Further to this, our postal packaging is custom made from cardboard that we reclaim from local supermarkets etc. Finally we source our raw materials from as close to our Yorkshire base as possible, to cut down on unnecessary haulage.
